Simple Clivia Lily Bulb Plantation Guide
Step 1 – Select Healthy Bulbs
Choose firm, healthy Clivia bulbs with visible roots and no signs of rot or damage.
Step 2 – Prepare the Pot
Use a pot with good drainage holes. Clivia prefers slightly root-bound conditions, so avoid oversized pots.
Step 3 – Prepare the Soil
Fill the pot with a well-draining potting mix made of garden soil, compost, cocopeat, and perlite or coarse sand.
Step 4 – Plant the Bulb
Place the bulb with the top (neck) slightly above the soil surface. Do not bury the entire bulb.
Step 5 – Water Lightly
Water immediately after planting to settle the soil. Keep the soil lightly moist but never waterlogged.
Step 6 – Provide Bright Indirect Light
Place the pot in a bright location with indirect sunlight. Avoid harsh afternoon sun.
Step 7 – Feed the Plant
Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer once every 3–4 weeks during the active growing season.
Step 8 – Watch It Grow
New leaves will emerge first, followed by beautiful flower stalks with proper care and patience.
